Composer

about
Kathryn is a composer based in Oxfordshire. Her musical journey began in the Cotswolds, singing in her local church choir and playing oboe in local orchestras. She later studied oboe & cor anglais at Trinity Laban Conservatoire of Music & Dance, followed by Guildhall School of Music & Drama.
Her focus switched to composing in 2020, where she began writing production music for labels such as Universal, Extreme Music and Zone Music, with tracks featuring on an array of productions for networks such as BBC, CBS, ESPN, ITV, Sky Sports and PBS. Alongside this, she works for White Stork Music (a Cutting Edge Group company headed up by Emmy-nominated composer Tom Howe), through which Kathryn has written music for shows such as 'The Apprentice', 'Fletcher's Family Farm', 'Shetland: Scotland's Wondrous Isles' and 'The Yorkshire Vet'. Film credits include the short film 'Shell of a Man', and she also works with several companies composing for adverts.
In 2023, Kathryn entered the European Recording Orchestra’s Call For Scores competition, and placed in the Top 25 out of over 700 entries. Kathryn then recorded her piece 'Equinox' with the Budapest Scoring Orchestra, and Scala Radio played it as their track of the week, featuring Kathryn as their ‘One to Watch’.
Alongside composing, Kathryn is also active as a session performer, recording soprano, oboe and cor anglais. Her work can be heard on shows such as 'Living With Leopards' (Netflix), 'Who Do You Think You Are' (BBC1), and cinematic trailers for video games such as 'Blocklords' and 'Elder Scrolls Online: Summerset'.
